Washington Wizards coach Eddie Jordan may advise his players not to travel, but he slipped his tongue too much after the NBA playoff series between the Wizards and Cleveland Cavaliers, and Jordan is paying for it.

Many times things can go completely unnoticed in the NBA; fans don’t see a play that leads to a foul, the instigation that leads to a fight and many times when the ref is harassed.

The Wizards-Cavaliers playoff series was not one of those moments, however, as the Washington Wizards coach was fined $25,000 by the NBA for flagrant use of language. Following a close game that ended with the Cavaliers winning 97-96 over the Wizards, in Game 3 of their best-of-seven playoff series. Eddie Jordan was noted complaining about the officiating, or as he claimed, the lack thereof.

It was not the NBA commissioner himself, David Stern, who revealed the fine, nor the Wizards nor the League. At best, the outcome of the whole affair was questionable, where the Cavaliers’ Lebron James apparently traveled just short of driving into the net for the upset point on the Wizards. Jordan felt there should have been a decision on the play; when there was no such call, Jordan made sure to verbally assault the officer in charge.

Eddie Jordan, knowing that the game was in a neck-to-neck vantage point, felt like everything his team did well that night was undone due to poor officiating and was distraught to say the least. He went on to state that Wizards star Gilbert Arenas isn’t as lucky as Lebron James when it comes to calls like this. This isn’t the first incident where coaches have bad mouthed, some get away with it, clearly not Eddie Jordan’s lucky day.
