What is a Soul Retrieval?

Sometimes it feels like a part of you is missing. You may experience sadness, grievance, inconsistencies in your thoughts and emotions, and even anger. Feeling this loss, you may want to seek some unusual help. A soul retrieval may be just what you need.

What is it?

From a technical perspective, soul retrieval is a tool used by shamans to recover a part of the soul that has been lost due to trauma, internal conflicts, deep grievances, excess stress, or a birth event that created a loss of soul. can.

How does it work?

The retrieval of a soul begins with a conversation with a shaman or shamanic practitioner who will ask questions about why the individual feels this loss occurred and what they are experiencing as a result. The shaman will then verify his energy field and, through a myriad of practices, determine the chakras most affected by soul loss and gain additional information or energies to assist in the recovery itself. Then the shaman will ask you to lie down on a table or the floor and you will go into a deep trance where he will perform the soul retrieval. Drumming, music, or breathing techniques can be part of the process of going into a trance. A soul retrieval guides the practitioner to the soul of the individual receiving the healing.

Once in a trance, the shaman will energetically and consciously travel to a place called the nether world where the soul chambers exist. In these chambers are the energies of the lost soul part, the contract or decisions made after the soul loss occurred, the energies to heal the part, and other gifts or healing energies to advance the individual’s life. The shaman will travel to each of these chambers to recover, learn, and heal the loss of the soul.

Once his work in the lower world is complete, the shaman will call upon the animal spirits for guidance and one or more animal spirits may choose to assist in the integration of healing and return with a shaman. The shaman will then travel back to the present with the healing energy, the gifts, and any animal spirits that decide to return.

Once back, the shaman will bring the energies to the individual’s chakra and the entire energy system as guided by buying their guides. Finally, the shaman will perform a complete healing and balance the new energies in the individual’s system. Once the physical healing is complete, the shaman will share his information of what he saw and experienced on the journey to the nether world with the individual and offer the opportunity for healing to occur on a very deep cycle psychological level.

The ramifications of a recovery can drag on for months and can also be affected by future recoveries. This is not an experience to be done every day, but rather a profound and moving practice that should be done with reverence and understanding of the sacredness of the event.

Soul retrievals can last anywhere from one to three hours and are offered for a variety of challenges for the body, mind, and soul. As a shamanic healer, I have personally offered recovery sessions from chronic illnesses, traumas such as rape and child abuse, questions about life’s journey, and stressful situations such as the loss of a parent, child, or spouse.

I am not saying that these traumas are always indicative of the need for recovery. There are times when INLP, hypnotherapy, shamanic counseling, or other integrative therapies are more appropriate forms of healing. Work with your individual doctor to see what is best for your personal situation.

Namaste and many blessings,

Jennifer Shapiro
