Petsafe Underground Wire Radio Fence Review: Will An Underground Fence Keep Your Dog Inside?

Does your dog constantly jump the fence or dig under the fence? Do you spend the day repairing holes and placing various patio furniture next to the fence to prevent your dog from going through a hole? Have you been poring over fencing reviews to keep you in? Then this Petsafe Underground Wire Radius Fence review is for you.

I’ve been doing this for years and I’m sure you’ll agree that it’s a huge hassle, not to mention very unsafe for your pet to roam around the neighborhood unsupervised whenever he pleases.

I live on 5 acres and had a beloved dog that was constantly getting off the fence. It wasn’t even an outside dog since all my dogs are house pets. Sometimes they do come out, though, and she would unfailingly head straight for a weak area in the fence and head into the fields next to me. I didn’t worry too much because we’re not near a busy road, but eventually she got off it and got hit by a car. The loss of that dog devastated me and I became obsessed with keeping my other dogs inside the fence no matter what. I considered another brand of wireless fence products but upon signing up it was extremely expensive I think it was going to be over a thousand dollars and this was about 9 years ago so probably even more expensive now.

What I ended up ordering was the Petsafe Underground Radio Fence. The one I bought was not wireless although they sell that type. The product I bought is the kind that has a wire and you can bury it if it gets in the way, or you can just run it along the fence line or even tack it up.

The kit comes with a transmitter, cable, training flags, a receiver collar for the dog to wear, and a training and installation DVD. The cost is very low for this type of item, and at the time of this writing, the kits range from $159 to $269, just a fraction of the cost of the other wireless product I had considered.

Now you may be wondering, since it’s such a reasonable price, does it work? I am here to tell you that it works perfectly. I’ve had this underground fence for 9 years and the only problems I’ve had with it are when we occasionally cut the wire with a lawnmower and have to splice it back together (easy), or when, living in Florida, to the transmitter It gets struck by lightning because I forgot to unplug it during a storm. In this case, the PetSafe Radio Fence company will replace your transmitter. For the first year we replace it for free, and then we pay a small fee of about $50. They are very good at this and have always sent out our new transmitter even before we send them the old one, so they spend very little time without one nearby. I really can’t say enough good things about the customer service there. very nice people

Therefore, I would highly recommend the Petsafe Underground Chain Link Fence. Not only did I go online and read about it to bring you this review, in fact, I’ve used this product for almost 10 years and I wholeheartedly recommend it. My dogs stay inside the fence where they belong and I have peace of mind.
