Just thinking about chili can make your mouth water for enchiladas, tacos, tamales, flautas, gorditas, fajitas, chiles rellenos, huevos rancheros…the list goes on and on. But wait, don’t forget the sauce! When it comes to restaurants that serve this hot and spicy condiment, they are generally judged based on whether their sauce is great, good, or average.

The Best Mexican Food Restaurants in Las Cruces

Nellie’s Cafe – Green Chile Enchiladas, Red Chile Stuffed Sopapillas, Menudo, Chile Relleno and great salsa.

Andele’s – Green Chile Steak Torta, Green Chicken Enchiladas, Tacos al Carbon, Half Chicken to Go and a really great salsa bar.

Dick’s Cafe – This is where the locals go for green chile salsa and burgers.

Bravo’s Cafe – Chicharon and Chile Relleno Burritos, Tasty Menudo and Salsa.

Chilitos – excellent fajitas and their chili is not too hot. Nice outdoor patio.

Roberto’s – Vegetarian Tamales with Green Chile and Cheese. Chile is very hot.

Los Compas – Chile Relleno Burritos, Tacos, Hot Sauce.

Si Señor – Ceviche Tostadas (Shrimp and Crab), Salsa Dips and Chips, Sopapillas are great and free at the end of the meal.

Nopalitos – Chicken Flutes, Green Chile Sauce, Sopapillas.

La Posta – Mixed Plates, Chips and Salsa, Apricot Empanada with Vanilla Ice Cream. Great atmosphere for tourists.

Yes, there are many more good Mexican restaurants in Las Cruces, but these are the ones I’ve eaten at, and I would suggest taking your visitors in need of a “chili fix.” You may not agree with my choices, everyone’s taste buds are different, but that’s why it’s called “having an opinion” and that’s my take on the best Mexican restaurants in Las Cruces!
