Maggiano’s little Italy is fantastic!

I recently celebrated my birthday and was looking for a family restaurant where my wife and two children could enjoy a nice relaxing dinner. We settled in Maggiano’s Little Italy. We had never eaten at this particular restaurant. Heard good reviews from a friend, and after eating there I have to say I knew what he was talking about. The food was delicious, the service was excellent, the restaurant was clean and the price, for what we ordered, was very reasonable. I don’t speak Italian, but I am familiar with the word “fantastic”, and that describes Maggiano perfectly.

We entered the restaurant and the first thing I noticed was the quaint atmosphere, filled with the sounds of happy customers talking and laughing, and the clinking of forks, spoons and knives as they enjoyed their meals. We were immediately shown to our table, which was covered with a beautiful white tablecloth, green cloth napkins folded and placed neatly on the table. The silverware was sparkling clean. I’m picky about it, as most would be. A gorgeous potted design adorned the center of the table, regular and wine glasses positioned neatly around the edges of the table.

The waiter showed up shortly after we sat down. He was professionally dressed and exhibited professional demeanor. He explained to us that the portion sizes at Maggiano’s are large, and he wasn’t kidding! That night we took home two small boxes of food. Back to the waiter. He was prompt and he made sure we were satisfied with our food. He kept an eye on our table without becoming annoying.

I ordered the Chicken Marsala, which is chicken breasts with sautéed mushrooms, onions, and Marsala sauce. It included angel hair pasta on the side. My wife ordered Chicken Parmesan, our oldest son ordered Spaghetti with Meatballs, and our youngest son ordered Grilled Salmon, Lemon and Herbs. Let me tell you, he was quiet at our table after our food arrived! All four of us were so impressed with the taste, the flavor, the PORTION SIZES!

The chicken breasts were so tender, the mushrooms sautéed perfectly, and the Marsala sauce was sensational. The angel hair pasta was boiled to perfection. Chicken breasts were the star of the show in this dish, and so it should be with Chicken Marsala. Nothing else on the plate overpowered the chicken breasts.

The only flaw I discovered with Maggiano’s was the location. It took us about 30 minutes to find the place. It was worth the drive! This particular restaurant is in an ideal location for business purposes, but it takes us a bit of time to drive there from where we live. That won’t stop us from dining at this restaurant in the future. I give this restaurant 4 out of 5 stars! Great food, clean restaurant, great service and reasonable prices are all qualities that will bring us back to Maggiano’s Little Italy.
