Why you should use the side switch:

Although Audio/Video playback won’t really be affected, you can use the switch on the side of your iPad to enable/disable audio alerts or to lock the screen orientation in portrait/landscape mode.

Opening settings from the home screen will allow you to toggle which function is assigned to the side switch. By selecting General, you can choose the feature you prefer under the ‘Use side switch for’ heading.

Multitask:

Pressing the Home button twice brings up a list of current or suspended apps. Also, by sliding the multitasking bar from left to right, you can quickly access audio/video playback controls and also get direct access to iTunes and volume controls. Better protect your device:

The password is a four number code by default, however the password can be disabled by going to Settings, General, Passcode Lock, Simple Passcode. At this point, you can use any full keyboard password to lock the iPad. As you can learn from the ipad2 guide manual, the password also helps encrypt your mail and attachments on the iPad, so you probably want it to be more secure than a four-digit password.

Take a look at the traffic conditions:

Open the Maps app and hit the dog-eared page icon in the bottom right corner, then turn on the Traffic overlay. Make sure your Internet connection is turned on for Maps to show real-time traffic conditions. Green means traffic is flowing, yellow means traffic is slower than normal, and red means traffic jams.

Perform a soft reset:

This is often useful when the system freezes.
Here’s how you do it: Press and hold the top “power” button and the bottom front “home” button for a few seconds and your iPad will reboot. If you want to force close an app, press and hold the home button in a similar way.

Many TV networks have complete free solutions for your iPad. We suggest you start researching for yourself and select the free apps from these networks that you prefer to watch.

For example, ABC has a free app and you can access recent episodes of their shows, including ABC’s TV schedule and information about their programming. Also, CBS, Bravo, TBS and other networks allow you full access to their programs and shows.
