How to get your tractor

As with many of the special items in FarmVille, you can purchase the Hot Rod Tractor in one of two ways. Once you reach level 12, you will have the option to purchase this item for 55 Farm Cash. However, if you want to be able to buy your tractor with coins, there’s a new twist involved. Instead of requiring a minimum number of neighbors to unlock the coin purchase option, the Hot Rod Tractor can only be purchased with coins if you have a Mafia Wars account that is at least level 10.

To be honest, this is a pretty clever cross-marketing strategy on Zynga’s part. Getting all FarmVille players hooked on Mafia Wars could also be a huge benefit for them. However, even if you don’t want to play Mafia Wars regularly, it’s still worth logging in and getting to level 10. This won’t take long, and even if it’s not your thing, the game is pretty engaging on its own.

Fast leveling in Mafia Wars

However, it can be a bit confusing to log into Mafia Wars for the first time. There’s a lot going on, and unlike other Zynga games like FishVille and Café World, Mafia Wars doesn’t follow the same design as FarmVille. You’ll be able to master it pretty quickly though, especially if your goal is simply to hit level 10.

The key to leveling up fast in Mafia Wars is to make good use of your energy. Just like in FarmVille, you have to earn experience points to level up, but to get those experience points, you have to do jobs. You’ll have a few jobs to choose from early on, and the number of those options will increase as you progress to new levels. However, what is constant in all jobs is that they all require energy to complete.

Every time you reach a new level or master a job (something achieved by doing that job over and over again), you will receive some skill points. You can then apply these skill points to different aspects of your character. If you were playing Mafia Wars for the long haul, you might want to spread out your skill points by putting a few in each category.

However, when you’re trying to level up quickly, all you want to do is dump all your skill points into increasing your max energy. With more energy, you can do more jobs, level up quickly, and unlock that Hot Rod Tractor. And who knows? You may end up liking Mafia Wars a lot more than you bargained for.
