The capital of the Czech Republic, Prague, is one of the most beautiful cities in the world and a very popular tourist destination. The tour to Prague includes excursions to unique historical monuments, delicious Czech food and many cultural entertainments: theater, opera, museums and others.

Prague has received various nicknames during its long history.
“The city of 100 spiers” – this name was given at the beginning of the XIX century. The mathematician and philosopher Bernardo Bolsano counted 103 laps in the city. Now the amount of it has grown to 500.

Prague’s most famous nickname is Zlata Praha. Its origins date back to the time of Charles IV, Czech King and German Emperor. He ordered to gild all the towers of the city. The other theory says that it was during the reign of Rudolf II who supported the gold production experiments.
Prague Castle is the most popular and visited castle and attraction in Prague. Its history begins in the 19th century. The castle has always been the residence of Czech rulers and is now the residence of the President of the Czech Republic. Must-sees are the Saint Vitas Castle, the beautiful gardens “Na valech” and “Rajska zahrada” and the Golden lane. The castle is open daily from 05:00 to 23:00 (from April to September until midnight).
The Lesser Town (Mala Strana) is situated on the hill between the Castle and the Vltava. Narrow streets, Renaissance-style buildings and palaces, Baroque churches and cathedrals create the special atmosphere of Mala Strana. One of the most picturesque places in the district is Letna Park on the west side of the Vltava River.

One of the symbols of Prague – the Charles Bridge (Karluv most) was built in the 14th century and is now considered the most photographed place in the city. It’s always crowded, so if you like to visit the bridge, you’d better go there every year you can.

The Old Town has been the heart of Prague since the 10th century. The unique architecture, the fusion of Gothic and Romanesque styles, was later added by the Baroque decoration after the great fire of the 17th-18th centuries.
Wenceslas Square (Vaclavske namesti) has always been the center of cultural life in the city. The square is surrounded by theaters, cinemas, restaurants, shops and banks.

The 12th century Old Town Square was the main market and is now a popular tourist destination with many impressive buildings. In the center of the square is the monument to Jan Hus. There is also the Old Town Hall with the Astronomical Clock and the Church of Our Lady before Tyn.
Petrin Hill is the network of 8 parks and other attractions. The best place to walk, it attracts many visitors every day. On the hill you can see the tower, the observatory and the labyrinth.

Anyway, this beautiful city in the center of Europe is really worth visiting!
